The Cartas Militares is a tool to load and automatically georeference the Portuguese raster maps with the same name. This tool can read the files from disk or download them from Internet (e.g. from the Cartografia section of the site www.mi4x4.com). No need to have (better, do not use) any .tfw file. The use is extremely easy, set the default directory (bottom edit box) to where the files reside and click on the selected quadrangle. If the map corresponding to the clicked rectangle is not found in the selected directory, a big red text warning is plotted during one second.
